KAJANG, August 14 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), through the Centre for Industry Relations and Networks (CiRNeT), organized a Town Hall session with the CEOs and Management Members of UPM to strengthen strategic collaboration between the university and the industry.
UPM’s Vice-Chancellor, Dato’ Prof. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, stated that the meeting aimed to create synergy in enhancing UPM's visibility as the university of choice for collaboration, in line with UPM’s Strategic Plan 2021-2025. He also launched the Industry Relations and Networks Guidebook 2.0 during the event.

This program provided a platform for UPM researchers to introduce their expertise to the industry sector through research collaboration, joint innovation, and technology transfer.
CiRNeT Director, Prof. Dr. Shamsul Bahri Md Tamrin, mentioned that the Town Hall was aimed at broadening the perspectives of UPM students and staff regarding labor market demands and strengthening the relationship between academia and industry.
The event was attended by CEOs and top management from 39 local and international companies. Ahmad Yasmin Yahya, Director/Chief Operating Officer of Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., said the program provides an opportunity for the industry to understand the university’s needs, while Dr. Salwa Abu Bakar, Senior General Manager of Faiza Sdn. Bhd., expressed her hope that the university would share its latest technologies and innovations to help solve industry issues.
