31 January 2023, Serdang- The Centre for Industrial Relation and Network (CiRNeT) has organized a project presentation session entitled "Development of Graphene Battery for Future Electric Vehicle" was held at the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Relations) Universiti Putra Malaysia. The project being worked on by a group of researchers from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) aims to produce more efficient and longer-lasting batteries for future electric cars.

This presentation session was also attended by General Manager, Puncak RM Sdn Bhd, researchers, and local industry experts. In the presentation, the head of the research group Dr. Mohd Roshdi Hassan presented the results of their research for the first year of producing a more efficient graphene battery.

According to Dr. Mohd Roshdi Hassan, this graphene battery can last longer than the usual lithium-ion batteries used in electric cars now. In addition, graphite batteries are also more efficient and can hold more energy, making them more suitable for use in future electric cars.

Although still in the early stages of development, the researchers hope that these graphene batteries will soon be produced on a large scale and installed in future electric cars. This project is also expected to help accelerate the development of the electric car industry in Malaysia.

Accordingly, this presentation session has been successful in revealing the importance of producing more efficient graphic batteries and driving efforts in the development of batteries for future electric cars. This project is also expected to help drive the electric car industry in Malaysia and benefit the environment.
