6 Jan 2023, Kuala Rompin - The Centre for Industrial Relation and Network of Universiti Putra Malaysia (CiRNeT UPM) held a follow-up meeting with Rompin Integrated Pineapple Industries Sdn. Bhd.

During the discussion, the Chief Executive Officer of RIPI, Mr. Mohd Shafiq Fayyadh Bin Mohd Sheth, expressed his desire to investigate further the process of quality detection and classification of pineapples and other fruits using near-infrared spectroscopy. Representatives from Sunforest (a company from South Korea) have also expressed consent and support for Universiti Putra Malaysia researchers to do additional research.

This discussion is a continuation of the 21 September 2022 meeting between UPM, represented by the Deputy Director of CiRNeT, and researchers from the Biochemistry Department of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences at UPM. The researchers had the opportunity to tour the pineapple plantation and processing plant and were briefed on their facilities. RIPI is the producer of premium pineapple branded Rompine™.
