Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is a higher education institution that plays an important role in the country’s socio-economic development. In the UPM ecosystem, Centre for Industrial Relation and Network (CiRNeT) is one of the UPM’s PTJ that plays a very important role as an industry networker because it can help in providing job opportunities for UPM graduates, contribute to research and teaching through collaboration with the faculty, and introduce technology latest to the university community.

CiRNeT UPM as an industry network is also an important channel to connect UPM with industry, or industry with UPM, and help in solving industry problems faced by the company and supplementing the deficiencies in UPM. Industry can assist in providing the necessary financial resources for research and teaching projects and providing opportunities for students to gain useful work experience and improve their capabilities in their chosen fields.

Building strong industry relationships and networks can also help UPM improve the quality of education by providing input in the field of research and teaching and providing industrial training to students. This will help students to equip themselves with the skills needed to join the world of work and become efficient players in a growing economy.

Industry networks can also help UPM to provide collaboration opportunities with companies and government bodies to solve social and economic problems faced by the country.
