"UPM and EXIM Bank Plant 100 Trees for Future Well-being"

PUCHONG, June 25 - UPM, in collaboration with EXIM Bank, recently planted 100 young trees at the Sultan Idris Shah Forest Education Center (SISFEC). This initiative aims to enhance forest conservation and environmental well-being. Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UPM, Prof. Ir. Dr. B.T. BT Hang Tuah Baharudin, highlighted the importance of raising awareness and restoring forest ecosystems to improve biodiversity and provide safe habitats for animals.

The joint effort signifies UPM's commitment to educating and involving all stakeholders in forest conservation amidst global warming challenges. By planting a variety of tree species, including the Merbau tree, the initiative aims to protect and preserve valuable species. Although tree growth is slow, starting now ensures future generations will have mature trees to sustain the environment. The event was attended by Director of CiRNeT UPM, Prof. Dr. Prof Dr. Shamsul Bahri, and President of EXIM Bank, Arshad Ismail.
