10 July 2023, Puchong –A collaborative effort between Sultan Idris Shah Forest Education Center (SISFEC), Centre for Industrial Relations and Network (CiRNeT), Faculty of Forestry and Environment, Shell Business Operations (SBO), and the local community, a successful tree-planting the event was held at SISFEC to promote sustainability and environmental conservation. The occasion was graced by the Vice President of SBO, Madam Susanne Dreyer, General Manager for Malaysia SBO, Mr. Syed Hussain Taha, and over 50 enthusiastic SBO employees.

The main objective of the event was to plant trees for a greener future, and it saw the collective effort of volunteers from SBO and the surrounding community. More than 100 trees were successfully planted during the event, showcasing the power of university-public-private
partnerships in tackling environmental challenges. The tree-planting initiative aims to address climate change by enabling the newly planted trees to absorb carbon dioxide and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, the project is expected to enhance biodiversity in the area and provide a habitat for local wildlife.

The local community actively participated in the event, gaining valuable insights into environmental conservation and the significance of preserving nature. The success of the tree-planting event at SISFEC demonstrates the positive impact that collaboration between corporations and local communities can have in promoting a sustainable future. As the newly planted trees take root and flourish, they will stand as a testament to the commitment to environmental stewardship, leaving a lasting legacy for generations.
