To enhance UPM's academic reputation at the international and local levels, UPM students have been encouraged to follow the Academic Mobility Program through Industrial Training Abroad. Through this program, students will be given space and opportunities to broaden their experience, learning, learn the work culture and noble values ​​of the industry and establish networks with industries abroad.

Overseas Industrial Training Programs were established to achieve the following objectives:

  1. Deepen and expand MoU/MoA activities that have been signed by UPM and foreign industries;
  2. Enhancing UPM's visibility on the international stage;
  3. Expanding the educational experience for UPM students;
  4. Provide opportunities for students to increase their understanding of global issues and perspectives related to the field of knowledge they are involved in;
  5. To enable students to practice the knowledge learned as well as to enlighten what is practised in industries abroad;
  6. Train students as ambassadors of UPM and Malaysia;
  7. Enhancing students' confidence level to deal with the international business environment, industry, employers, suppliers, subordinates as well as the work environment abroad; and
  8. Encourage knowledge transfer and best practices from abroad in related fields.

One of the functions and roles of the Industrial Relations and Networking Center (Cirnet), Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry & Community Network) is to obtain Industrial Training placement opportunities in overseas industries, which can provide high impact and incentives such as allowances and facilities for UPM students. Therefore, various meetings, discussions and networking with industries from abroad are held from time to time.
